Jalang’o spoke in an episode of his #BongaNaJalas YouTube segment on Friday where he hosted Andrew Kibe; whom he is set to replace at the Radio Africa Group-owned station.

Jalang’o late last month announced his exit from Mediamax Limited’s Milele FM citing differences with management over pay occasioned by the COVID-19 effect on business.

According to the showbiz bigwig, his breakfast show with Alex Mwakideu remained largely unaffected and still brought in reasonable revenue to the company despite the effect of the disease on the economy hence he was uncomfortable with taking the kind of pay cut he was being subjected to.

He later came out to allege that he had received phone calls from proprietors of at least 8 radio stations in the country seeking his services.

According to the comedian-cum-MC however, he had narrowed down to radio stations on Waiyaki Way in Westlands.

“I had an amazing meeting with my friend and boss, the first person who ever gave me the first radio contract, Mr. Patrick Quarcoo, and we had a long discussion,” he said.

“I think I might end up back where it all began; Radio Africa.Which radio (station), I still don’t know: could it be Kiss, Classic, or Jambo, I don’t know.”

Speculations about his return to Kiss FM were only fueled when Kibe, on June 30, 2024, announced that he had parted ways with the station.

The controversial figure, in the Friday YouTube interview with Jalang’o, cited a fall out with his employer over unknown reasons as the cause of his exit.

He hence sought to debunk reports on social media that Jalang’o had caused him to be fired from the station in order to take up his job.

Jalang’o will now host the morning show on Kiss FM alongside Kibe’s former co-host Kamene Goro.

In a Twitter post, Mijungu, who is a trained lawyer, thanked  NMG for giving him an opportunity to work at NTV, he also showed his gratitude to his fans and supporters for always staying tuned.

He was, however, shocked that his 7 years of service to the media house was summed up in a two-page termination letter that was handed to him earlier today.

The axe fell @NTVnewsroom and I was on its way. 7 years in those corridors summed up in a two page letter of termination. We live to fight another day. Thanks to God, He remains the greatest, thank you @ntvkenya for the opportunity and thank you for always staying tuned.

Earlier this week, NMG sent out a circular to its staff that stated that the media house will be realigning it’s business and gravitating towards a digital strategy.
